Rain SIM cards now at Pargo Pick-up Points in selected Clicks stores

Rain, South Africa’s unlimited data network, has teamed up with Pargo to make rain SIM cards available at over 100 pick-up points in select Clicks stores. This new channel offers customers a convenient, instant way to pick up a rain SIM card when they’re out shopping for essentials during South Africa’s Covid-19 lockdown period.
“We’ve seen a surge in demand for our unlimited data-only plans,” said Chief Marketing Officer Khaya Dlanga. “Our partnership with Pargo should give more South Africans access to affordable, unlimited data at a time when they need it more than ever.”
Pargo has instituted strict hygiene protocols at all pick-up points and have made the health of their customers and staff a priority.
South Africans who can’t wait for courier delivery of their rain SIM can click the ‘find SIM’ button on the rain website. There, they’ll enter their home address to find their closest participating Pargo Pick-up Point on an interactive map.
To pick up a rain SIM, customers can simply ask for one at the Pargo counter in store – they’re free. Once they have one, they activate it at rain.co.za, and can even RICA their SIM online. For this, they need a valid South African ID, proof of address (like a bank statement, phone bill or store account) not older than three months, and their smartphone.
On the rain website, customers can choose from a range of plans, including unlimited 4G data 24/7 for R479 month-to-month or unlimited off-peak which offers 19 hours of unlimited data every day for only R250 a month.
“Unlimited data is something many South Africans can use right now,” said Dlanga. “At rain, we’re doing everything we can to help South Africans to keep doing their thing – whether that’s working, streaming, sharing or chatting.”
